For too long the NSW Labor Government has locked recreational fishers & local communities out of the state's waterways. By locking up fishing areas into Marine Parks, NSW Labor has compromised lifestyles, hurt local families, coastal economies and tourism industries. Labor has spent millions of taxpayer dollars on the creation of marine parks which are based on politics, not science. It’s time the people of NSW stood up to Labor and joined the campaign to stop the Labor Lockout! TestimonialsFishing is one of the greatest pastimes for families in this country but sadly the approach of the State Labor Government in managing NSW’s beautiful waterways has become a case of simply locking them up and throwing away the key.
![]() - Duncan Gay My name is Bill Marchment and I’m 70 years old, retired and my main recreation is fishing. You can imagine my alarm and disgust at the proposed new Marine Park that includes Lake Cathie. I’m further dismayed that such a small minority in the Government can have such a huge impact on the majority of the population. I hear that the fish population is in dire straits. Wrong, rubbish and completely off the mark! I challenge anyone to fish with me for a reasonable length of time and I will prove that there are plenty of fish in the ocean and estuaries. Do you have any idea what devastating impact you will have on all recreational fishermen? There are hundreds of thousands of us who are worried and distressed at the Marine Park proposal. Come down to Lake Cathie and see the hundreds of families fishing on any given weekend. Who could be so mean spirited to take that away? ![]() - Bill Marchment with grandchildren Ocean and Lily Lake Cathie

(1) They (wrongly) thought they were a shoe in, and
(2) We are a s afe coalition seat, and
(3) Even if in government they are going continue to implement marine parks because they will prostitute themselves to get Green votes and/or preferences.
I was a hereditary coalition voter, but now you can whistle dixie unless you promise roll-back not just moritorium. Until you do you are still the same bunch of dills that lost an unloseable election and allowed ordinary people in the Great Lakes to be treated as criminals for catching a fish.
Go jump in the lake
